ABOUT ME

My name is Gabrielle! I was born March 1988 and have been doing makeup since I was 17, modeling and acting since I was 5. I have enjoyed every minute of it all. I am experienced in wedding, prom, child, everyday, evening, fashion and theatrical makeup, as well as face and body painting for birthday parties or special events. As far as modeling goes, I have done it all and consider the human body another form of art and expression. I have never been shy and love to pose for the camera.

Growing up I was always a very creative child. I loved to paint, draw (which developed into sketching and painting) and get into my mothers makeup. Most of my childhood memories take place inside of a department store. My mother was a makeup artist in various department stores, so naturally I always wanted to visit her at work and watch as well as play in the makeup myself.

While viewing others getting their makeup done, I realized a sudden change in people's attitude. I watched women sit in the chair, sometimes looking sad and or depressed, and once the transformation was complete (whether drastic or natural), I noticed them light up! They would feel more confident and seemed to feel more comfortable expressing them self and allowing their true inner beauty to shine!

Now don't get me wrong, makeup is not what makes a person beautiful, but I do believe it helps give some that little boost of confidence and "POP" they desire. Accentuating  a favorite feature, covering up something that you feel self conscious about, or maybe just expressing some creativity!

My favorite part of being a makeup artist, is making people feel better about them self, or just giving  them a new look/style to try out. Not to mention I get to have a little fun being creative!

One of my most memorable experiences doing some ones makeup was when i was working for Estee Lauder when I was 18, and I realized, I want to do this forever. A lady walked up to my counter looking very shy and depressed. She told me she had a blind date that night but was thinking about not showing up, due to her severe adult acne. she didn't want to see the look on the guys face when he saw her, and realized how badly broken out and "redfaced" she was.   I tried telling her that if he was worth his salt, he could look past that. She didn't care, she was afraid of the initial reaction.

So I sat her in my chair and showed her the skin care products she should be using with her skin type first, then I got to work. I knew exactly what foundation and concealer would be appropriate to cover up everything she wanted covered. When I was done, and handed her the mirror, she looked up and me and began to cry. She said, "I never knew I could be this beautiful...". Which of course made me cry as well. It felt so good to make her see herself differently and instantly see her confidence level shoot up. We cried together for a bit, resulting in me having to touch up her makeup (it was worth it), and told her to go on this date tonight and show him what an amazing person she was.

She came back to see me about a month later, face looking much more clear, and had a bit of a glow to her. She told me I changed her life. She had kept up with her skin care regimen, applied her makeup like I showed her, which in turn made her stress a lot less and helped her face clear up. Plus she had her new man with her!! The date was a success! She no longer felt alone and depressed.

I knew from this moment on, I wasn't just a makeup artist, I'm also helping change lives.
